The Art of Letting Go
Autumn is nature’s great moment of balance. At the Autumn Equinox, light and dark sit in perfect balance and the year turns from abundant harvest towards natural release and restoration.
This year the Equinox arrived alongside a New Moon, a time of deep, womb-like potential and new beginnings. Close by was a Full Moon, shining an illuminating spotlight and amplifying everything. What a powerful, potent combination.
Did you notice anything shift for you?
Taking a leaf out of my own book
We never see trees struggling to hold on to their leaves. When the time is right, they simply let go. No force. No resistance. It’s a natural process and a necessary one, clearing the way for the next season.
At this point of my writing, reading my own words, I realised I needed to take a leaf out of my own book (pun absolutely intended!).
So I paused. I stepped away from the computer, took TeeYa for a walk (our beautiful wall-eyed husky) and gave myself some much-needed headspace and a little digital detox. Of course, I came back renewed, refreshed and more creative.
Yes, this is as much my journey as it is yours.
So why amber?
Apart from loving its gorgeous rich colouring, it feels lovely to hold in my hands and has an immediate calming and soothing influence.
Amber is an organic gemstone, formed from ancient tree resin over millions of years. To me, it’s the perfect symbol for this season and its alchemical potential – extraordinary when you think about it – something that was once flowing, slowly transformed into something solid and precious.
Think of its colours: glorious coppers, burnt orange and gold, rich and warm with a vibrant energy. Amber is traditionally associated with the sacral chakra, the energy centre linked to creativity, relationships and the lower back.
Play with it. Wear it, hold it, surround yourself with its colours and see what it brings up for you.
Your Turn: Take an Amber Pause
Ready? Yes, right here, right now. It’s the perfect time for a little pause in this autumn amber energy.
Take five quiet minutes with a cuppa, a notebook, or simply your own thoughts. Then ask yourself:
- What currently feels heavy?
- What have I outgrown?
- What am I still holding on to through habit, guilt or expectation?
- What might create more space, ease or energy in my life, if I allowed it to fall away?
There is nothing you need to force or fix. Simply notice what arises.
Our bodies are communicating with us all the time: through whispers, gentle nudges and occasionally, a rather less subtle loudspeaker! So the real question is this:
How often are you giving yourself space to listen?
Give yourself the gift of a deeper pause
If five minutes with a cuppa leaves you wanting to learn more, my Body-Mind-Bliss 1:1 Retreat is your opportune ‘amber pause’ made real: YES time set aside just for you, here at Madeley Park Farm.
“I felt amazing with absolutely NO aches and pains! AND I did sleep really well too. It was like a miracle! I really enjoyed it… Thank you.” Gill F

Coming Soon: Healthy Midlife and Beyond
I’m bursting with excitement! A brand-new, more structured course is on its way and in all honesty, it’s been a long time coming.
It was an inspiration from the many women I’ve worked with who struggled with their weight, especially around menopause. There’s clearly a universal call for help.
Hey we do our best with what we know. Often assuming these health and wellbeing niggles are inevitable, unavoidable or insurmountable with age.
Nope. Not true!
In my experience, it’s often more about this… You don’t know what you don’t know, until you do!
Why blood sugar matters?
One of the modules explores blood sugar, as this is highly significant in helping to recognise what may be linked to your own struggles. My work and research reveal an interesting picture: glucose highs and lows often coincide with stressful periods, affecting sleep, weight, movement, mood and much more.
Supportive, practical and non-judgemental, this is not another quick fix. We’ll challenge myths, share the latest findings and loosen the grip of outdated beliefs.
You are never too old to make changes and to actually change.
As your awareness grows, so do your choices and what becomes possible. Fabulously liberating!

In every molecule of my being, I know this is such an important course. I can’t wait to share more very soon and I’d love to know your thoughts.
Healthy Life Inside Out: Your Happy Hub
There’s actually been a second creation going on in the background, made to support women like me through midlife and beyond, doing our best to keep doing our best!
Healthy Life Inside Out is a happy hub for busy, resourceful women who are “full on, flat out in the fast lane”: Putting everyone else first, until their own health can no longer be ignored.
It happens so easily. Life gets busy, your attention goes elsewhere and suddenly it all feels more struggle than fun. Where’s the fun gone? Oh my goodness, is this it from now on?
No – it doesn’t have to be!
Now play with me for a moment… Imagine a space where you can speak openly about your own needs, explore what’s out of balance and discover what needs to change, dipping in whenever it suits you.
It’s refreshingly different and you’ll feel different too: uplifted, lighter, free of guilt and all the other horrid downers. Like the phoenix, a more youthful you emerges: Stronger, healthier, energised; more confident and optimistic about life.
Sound good!?

An autumn message from me
I captured a dramatic early-morning photo of the sunrise reflecting in the windows of the ‘big’ house down the lane and it must be something to do with it being this time of the year when the sun is rising and it’s at a particular angle in the sky that we’re treated each morning to this spectacular heralding of a new dawn, so I just had to share it once again.
So, as nature changes her colours and begins to release what she no longer needs, perhaps you too can give yourself permission to do the same. Some things have served their purpose and are simply meant to be released when they’re done. Time to let go.
It is particularly freeing. Pleasing on many levels; ‘letting go’ can be extraordinarily cathartic. Take a moment and look around you… what’s finished and is calling for your attention, (hint… think physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) so it can free up space and gift you more flow and balance?
Always to your success in health, harmony and happiness,
Susan X
